Sky-Mobi Announces Global Business Strategy
Sky Network Technologies co., Ltd (Sky-Mobi) announced the launch of global business strategy and business plan for the coming 3 years.
As China's largest software platform and Value-added services provider for non-smartphones, Sky-Mobi developed technology of network adaption and language adaption for the global market. "The connectivity problem is quite extensive in South-east Asia" said Richard Wu, the technical director of Sky-Mobi Oversea Business Unit, "some local users are not able to configure the GPRS settings manually, so we hope our technology will fulfill the requirements for all local users. And we will integrate all these technologies in Sky-Mobi VAS total solution."
It is believed that these ground-breaking technologies will greatly help the cooperation between Sky-Mobi and local mobile manufacturers. With a IDC centre in HongKong, Sky-Mobi is capable to provide application store services around the world. Together with the penetration of Chinese mobiles, Sky-Mobi has launched application store service around South-East Asia, including Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. In addition, billing system are also being setup for other geographical area where Chinese mobiles are heading. "We will cover Mid-east, Africa and South America in 2011, while we expect services to be available in all important counties in at the end of 2012." said David Yan, the General Manger of Sky-Mobi Oversea Business Unit.
Looking ahead, more and more Chinese independent design houses (IDH)s are looking forward to export of mobile devices which is labeled as "Made in China". According to market data, Chinese phones comprise around 40% of the market share in India, and the number is expected to be 60% by 2011 and 80% by 2012. Sky-Mobi believes the dominance achieved in the domestic China market can be replicated in these international regions.
In addition, the highest growth segment of these international markets are basic feature phones, which means there is a big gap between the phone features and users' requirements. The Sky-Mobi Application Store Solution is able to fill this gap by providing thousands of wallpaper, ringtone, music as well as applications and games.
Users are able to benefit from various contents and applications for personalization and customization. On the other hand, device companies will benefit from the differentiation and revenue share from such software sales.
